Using a sustainable pumping system, surface water, drain water, or rainwater is extracted. Once the contaminated water enters the system, it is guided through several filtration stages. First, the water passes through an automatically backwashing glass bead filter or cloth filter. This stage removes coarse contaminants such as sand and suspended particles. Next, the water flows through the control filter, where the remaining fine particles are removed. Finally, the water is treated by the ultrafiltration units, where disinfection takes place by filtering out fungi, bacteria, and viruses.

Ultrafiltration is a technology suitable for the treatment of many types of water, such as surface water, river water, rainwater, and recirculation water, or as pre-filtration for a reverse osmosis installation. It is a disinfection technology that is not sensitive to the light transmittance (T10 value) of the water. Iron content or CocoPeat discoloration of the water are no longer limiting factors for disinfection capacity.

Disinfection of fungi - (1–30 micron), bacteria (0.2–1 micron), and viruses (0.08–0.12 micron) through filtration based on the “gatekeeper” principle. Fungi, bacteria, and viruses simply cannot pass through our 0.02-micron membranes. This results in a disinfection performance of LOG 6 (99.9999%) for bacteria and LOG 4 (99.99%) virus removal.

Cleaner irrigation system – by filtering particles down to 0.02 micron, the irrigation system becomes significantly cleaner (up to 1,000–4,000× cleaner compared to traditional disinfection methods). This greatly reduces the need for chemical agents (such as hydrogen peroxide) to keep piping clean. Because organic contamination is removed, it can no longer serve as a breeding ground for new or secondary infections.
